Women of the Future Awards: Recognising Successful Young Women in Southeast Asia

After the success of the inaugural 2018 Awards, the second Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia will be held in March 2019. The awards will once again aim to build a platform to showcase regional emerging leaders, who are tomorrow’s game changers, disrupting stereotypes and driving positive, impactful change.

The search for the Women of the Future Southeast Asia 2019 is officially underway. Nominate today!

“These awards are important to me because Cambodia hasn’t been able to participate
in anything regional and there seems to be a feeling that we can’t. This award means so much to me because it is a symbol; a symbol that as a country we can participate and be recognised in the region, and that people care what we think.”, says Laura Mam from Cambodia, WOF Southeast Asia 2018 Arts and Culture Awardee.

A Life Changing Experience

The Women of the Future Awards, founded by Pinky Lilani CBE DL in 2006, were conceived to provide a platform to strengthen the pipeline of female talent in the UK. In 2018 we hosted our inaugural international awards in Southeast Asia and the response was phenomenal. Nominations were received from every country in the region and the achievements of the candidates were awe-inspiring. The Awards return in 2019 to build on the strong foundation of our first year and to continue to positively impact and strengthen the pipeline of female talent in Southeast Asia.

92% of 2018 shortlisted candidates felt that the Awards gave them greater access to global networks.

93% of 2018 shortlisted candidates felt that they had greater belief in their own strengths due to their involvement with the awards.

93% of 2018 shortlisted candidates believed they gained new perspective through exposure to individuals from different countries AND different industries.

“This award gave me the platform to be a part of a network with the same beliefs, to try to make positive changes within our communities. Thank you very much for this recognition. I feel more empowered than ever to bring positive impact to others!”, adds Dr. Chern Ein Oon, Women of the Future Southeast Asia Science, Technology and Digital
2018 Winner.

This year, the awards will be focused on 11 countries in the region. This initiative is an integral component of our vision to build a global, collaborative network of women. The winners will be announced at our Gala Awards dinner on March 21, 2019 at the Hilton Singapore.
