Unspoken Life: Aidha Photography Competition & Exhibition 2017 – Singapore – December 16-17 (Event)

Unspoken Life: Aidha Photography Competition & Exhibition 2017

Visit this upcoming exhibition as we delve beneath the labels to unfurl the many selves that domestic workers keep hidden from Singapore society.

They are dreamers, artists, and changemakers, both locally and in your home countries.

There are almost 240,000 foreign domestic workers in Singapore, but many remain unseen and invisible, defined solely by their duties and responsibilities of cleaning, cooking and caring.

This was a call to all domestic workers to share their Unspoken Life.

As part of Aidha’s fundraising campaign, “Gift of Education” campaign and International Migrant Workers Day on 18th December 2017, aidha and our partners, Lensational, Sing Lit Station and Intersections have organised Aidha’s 2nd Annual Photography Exhibition!

The exhibition is open to the public from 1pm-5.30pm on 16th & 17th December at Intersections Gallery, Kandahar Street.

Winners of the competition will win cash prizes totalling $1500 with a grand prize of $500!

Aidha

Aidha (a Sanskrit word meaning ‘that to which we aspire’) is an award-winning, Singapore-registered charity set up in July 2006. Aidha believes in ‘sustainable futures through financial education’, and that every woman should have the opportunity and choice to determine her own future.

With every Aidha student sharing her skills with family and friends, an entire community benefits - making the multiplier effect of the charity's financial literacy programme significant and life-changing. Their impact studies show that by educating one woman, Aidha can help impact nine lives.
