Nov 12th – Awaken Your Inner Hero

There’s a hero inside every one of us, just waiting to break free. What makes one a hero is not the absence of fears, but having the courage to face them head-on.

Join this workshop where Anh Thu Nguyen, a certified trainer, life coach (ACC), founder and director at ThreeSixtySkills will help you take steps to be hero of your own life: to deepen your awareness, to make conscious choices, to change what doesn’t serve you anymore and to be responsible for your results.

You’ll experience your current situation from new perspectives, face what is holding you back from achieving your goals and discover new opportunities to move forward.

Nov 18th – A Glimmer In The Dark: Shedding Light On The Misconceptions Of Postpartum Depression

Presented by Singapore Committee for UN Women

1 in 7 new mothers suffer from postpartum depression. However, as a result of misinformation and misunderstanding, many women who are suffering don’t get the information, resources or help they desperately need to get better.

Join us for a discussion on postpartum depression and other perinatal mental illnesses to learn more about PPD, its treatment and the stigma surrounding mental health illnesses. The discussion will be led by medical and mental health professionals, as well as mothers who have faced postpartum depression and are overcoming it

Recognising and destigmatizing mental health and medical issues in women is a step in combatting the normalisation of discrimination against women and is in line with our Help Anna campaign, an initiative to raise awareness about the different types of violence women of all backgrounds are exposed to.

Nov 21st – Who’s Afraid Of The Big Blank Page

This sketchbook workshop is created for grown-ups who want to draw but fear they can’t. Many of us get stuck wanting to draw the ‘right way,’ or to color within the lines just as we were once told. This pretty much makes up the ghost of our creative past. The sight of a blank sheet of paper can be quite overwhelming as well, leaving one to say, “but I can’t draw!”

The 3-hour hands-on workshop aims to:

  1. approach art intuitively by celebrating the imperfect,
  2. explore the kind of art where every drawn line and shape is valid, and
  3. foster a safe and encouraging community for like-minded creatures

It’s a good time to let the creative juices flow as they should, restore confidence in your own drawings and turn the pages of the sketchbook into your own kind of art. Own it, embrace it, love it.

To book a seat, email us. Registration closes once all 10 slots are purchased. For more details, visit www.jarofsalt.com.

Date: November 21, 2015 2PM
Venue: #02-01, 176 Joo Chiat Rd, Singapore
Fee: $90/person, includes a drawing kit, personalized journal and refreshments
