The Helper Documentary Screening – Singapore – October 22 (Event)

Foreign domestic helpers have long been close to our heart.

Last year Gina spoke at the Aidha graduation, we couldn’t be prouder of Beth, their former helper, who graduated from their two-year program where she learned computer literacy, money management, and entrepreneurship.

Like Aidha, The Helper Documentary shines the light on the lives of foreign domestic helpers in Singapore. It tells their real-life stories. Not just the parts where they manage households, looking after families day in and day out, keeping kids safe, sending them to school, making nutritious meals, and more. They do so much more.

The Helper shows us what goes on behind the smiles. The challenges, the family left behind, the learnings, and (especially) the victories.

This feature-length documentary screening is being hosted by Charlotte Wilkinson, Founder of Hello Sister, and HoneyKids Asia.

The documentary was incredibly well-received in Hong Kong and is making its way to Singapore.

When: Sunday 22 October, 5pm-8pm
Where: The Projector, 6001 Beach Road, #05-00 Golden Mile Tower, 199589
Tickets: $15 per foreign domestic worker (ticket includes popcorn, a soft drink and a goody bag), and $40 for the public.
Food and Drinks: will be available at Intermission Bar at The Projector (plus a free glass of Mumm Champagne and some fruity nibbles for everyone upon arrival!)

HoneyKids Aisa said, “While this documentary tells the tales of helpers in Hong Kong, the themes of immense sacrifice, hard work, and endless amounts of love are the same here in Singapore.”

Everyone in Singapore is invited! It doesn’t matter if you live with or without a helper, Hello Sisters is inviting you all, especially helpers themselves!

Champagne and fruits are being served at 5pm so make sure you’re there for the full experience!

The documentary starts at 6pm. Joanna the Director will be attending along with the producers where she’ll say a few words at the beginning and be around for questions after the film too!

All proceeds from this event will be donated to HOME (Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics), to help them continue the great work they do to support helpers in Singapore.
