A Day In The Life Of An Energy Healer

Windy Gancayco is an energy healer and entrepreneur based in Cebu City, Philippines. She has worked alongside the world’s brightest minds at the United Nations and World Health Organization and co-managed a Swiss restaurant in Cebu with her husband before becoming a certified Reiki Master Teacher and Yogi in 2015. She is the founder of the Gassho Center for Healing Arts. Her life’s mission is to help everyone connect with their inner healer naturally.

Titled “A Day In The Life Of A Woman,” this series celebrates the women in our lives. From the everyday to inspirational, the series aims to highlight women from various fields and share a bit of the diversity we experience every day.

I opened the Gassho Center for Healing Arts in September 2017 and I am so excited to be celebrating our first anniversary this month. The Gassho Center is my second business. I owned a Swiss restaurant with my husband from 2013 to 2015 where I did the cooking and most of the marketing. I got my Reiki energy healing and yoga certification to teach both in 2015. My practice has grown to include retreats, seminars, talks, and corporate training, among other things.

My days all look very different, but this is what Monday looked like this week:

6:00 A.M. – Wake up and do a morning ritual consisting of mindful cacao drinking and meditation, setting intentions for the day, and then checking emails.

7:00 A.M. – Leave for my private Reiki Yoga session.

8:00 A.M. – Private session where I integrate Reiki energy healing into the various yoga poses. I prefer one on one to group teaching as I feel like I can provide more value.

9:00 A.M. – Back at home, I grab some breakfast and touch base with my assistant on ongoing projects.

10:00 A.M. – Work on the computer creating content, organizing events, and preparing classes.

11:00 A.M. – Private Reiki session at the Gassho Center.

12:00 NN – Lunch at home.

1:00 P.M. – Meeting with one of my teachers to discuss an upcoming retreat.

3:00 P.M. – Reiki session at the Gassho Center.

4:00 P.M. – Break time at home, check emails.

5:00 P.M. – Meet with my assistant to go over marketing and events.

7:00 P.M. – Take out dinner because I didn’t have time to do groceries or cook! Fortunately, there are some healthy options available these days.

8:00 P.M. – Relax and read a book or watch some inspiring videos.

10:00 P.M. – Lights off for me. I need to be fresh for another early start tomorrow!

What is the most challenging part of your job or day?

Fitting in all the things I want to do. I just got my assistant recently and she is only working part-time, so I do 90% of the work at the healing center! I have so many ideas, so I need to really prioritize and plan to stay on top of things.

What do you like most about your job or business?

I love that I am creating and sharing a life that really helps people and transforms their lives. Energy healing is a very powerful modality if you are ready to let it blossom and can turn your situation around, be it health-related, financial or with relationships. It’s the same with the other modalities offered and taught at the center such as yoga, meditation, tarot, and shamanism.

What goes through your mind throughout your day and how do you feel?

Grateful, grateful, grateful—for the people who helped me put up the center and encouraged me, for my clients and customers, many of whom have become my friends, for my practice, and so much more!
