NDI is a non-profit social enterprise that tackles the problem of energy poverty by empowering women in rural Indonesia. To date, they have helped more than 10,000 individuals in rural Indonesia who now have access to clean, stable and affordable lighting. NDI has been awarded the fourth Jetstar Flying Start Grant for their ‘Mothers of Light’ program to train more women in villages to be solar lamp entrepreneurs and reduce CO2 emissions.

Founder, The Expat Fair

Betty Ashman is the founder of the The Expat Fair, a large-scale boutique tradeshow that connects small and medium enterprises with unique products and brands to their ideal customers. From her first-ever fair at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club with about 30 stalls in 2004, her database of business owners today stands at more than 2,000, while that of consumers has hit 28,000.

Before founding The Expat Fair, she had a successful corporate career with firms such as IKEA and C. Melchers & Co across Asia-Pacific. Betty sees herself as a womanpreneur, wife, mother and author of Make It Happen.

Aziz Ismail is the founder and CEO of cloud-based enterprise solutions company, Authentic Ventures.

He left his comfortable CEO job with a multinational corporation in the control system industry because he wanted to prove that Malaysian companies could develop new technologies rather than just distribute foreign ones.

Their cloud-based software solutions Office Central launched in 2012 with integrated tasks, such as accounting, payroll, HR and customer relationship management.

While they only started with 15 corporate customers, today they have grown their client base to over 10,000 users. Ir. Aziz Ismail lectures, speaks on entrepreneurship, and holds various positions in associations, such as New Entrepreneur Forum (NEF) and Technopreneur Association of Malaysia.
