What do you think is the most significant contribution Filipino Women make to the country?

Raising the next generation well is the most significant contribution women can make. But that requires work, inner work mostly. Women come with a lot of trauma passed on from mother to daughter, and we need to heal them. Plus our societal conditions. For a vast majority of Filipino women there is the trauma of sexual exploitation, poverty, a male chauvinist society, the double standard, low self worth.

What’s your best advice for Filipino women to achieve success?

Success is relative. Search your heart for what that means to you and do all that you can to achieve it.

(1) Accept failures, fall down seven times and get up eight.
(2) It’s ok to make bad choices as long as you learn from them.
(3) It’s not a competition. When one of us breaks the glass ceiling, it makes it possible for many more to follow.
(4) Celebrate small victories. Success is the journey, not the destination.
(5) Surround yourself with the right people. Those who love you, accept you and those who call out your bullshit.
