Ruth Keijdener, the founder of Beautiful Powerful Women, is an optometrist-turned-missionary who organizes global conferences aimed at helping people recover from hidden pains. In this Day In The Life Of A Woman article, Ruth shares with us what a typical day for her like when she has a conference coming up.

Having such an amazing and supportive husband and kids that are all grown up, I get to do what I know I am called to do. Out of my love for God, I know that this has always been my passion—helping women, and men as well, heal their hearts from hidden pains stemming from difficult or broken relationships, abuse, personal problems, and traumas. I pray with them and help walk them through the dark seasons to get the freedom they seek.

I’ve lived in so many countries and despite the different cultures, family values, and education, I’ve seen that people, regardless of where they come from, go through the same experiences and difficulties. God stirred my heart to reach them on a bigger scale through the conferences I organize. Thankfully, because of my extensive travels, I have been privileged to know amazing men and women who would travel all the way across the world to help me heal and restore, encourage, and revive people’s hearts by the grace of God. The Beautiful Powerful Women Conference, which was held last September 8 at the Cuneta Astrodome is just that.

I’m sharing with you what a typical day for me is like whenever I have a conference coming up.

9:00 A.M. – Wake up and worship. I pray and spend time with God.

10:00 A.M. – Sometimes I have a radio, TV, or church appearance to promote an event.

12:00 NN – Lunch meeting with my team or connect with new people.

2:00 – 6:00 P.M. Meeting with friends or people to pray with for inner healing and/or encourage others. Sometimes, I meet new contacts. This would usually be with several groups.

7:00 -10:00 P.M. – Business meeting and prayer meeting combined.

11:00 P.M. – 12:00 A.M. – I’m usually at home, listening to podcasts, praying, or chatting with family members who are abroad.

1:00 A.M. – I finally call it a day!

 

What do you like most about your job or business?
Each time I get a vision from the Lord, how to start is always tough because I begin the project with no help. Then slowly see the buildup of contacts, help, and open doors just coming my way to get things done. This is very encouraging. The journey is exciting and nerve-wracking.

What’s something you do during the night to refresh yourself before another busy day?
I make sure I have my quiet time. This usually entails having worship music or audio Bible readings surround the entire living room. I also spend my quiet time kneeling down and praying.

What is your advice for women considering your industry?
You need to have compassion and passion. Compassion is important because once you see a need and you know you have to do something, it creates a passion within you. Combined with faith, you can face anything and anyone who comes against it, and through faith, you know that nothing is impossible.
