Quick and Easy Breakfast Smoothies When You’re Rushed

Before you rush out the door tomorrow morning on an empty stomach, take a look at these fantastic, quick breakfasts! 



Now you have a good reason to make breakfast the most important meal of the day!


Blueberry Banana Smoothie With Flax Seed
The classic combination of banana and berries. Though the recipe yields blueberry, you can replace them with raspberry, strawberry or a mixed set. Flaw seeds provide the necessary fibre and omega-3 for a healthy heart, and brain power!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 6 oz plain nonfat plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions: Place your ingredients in the blender and start blending on low speed and then gradually increase the speed until all ingredients are smooth. Add another 30-60 seconds to add air which makes the smoothie lighter. Serves 2 so bring an extra glass.

Oatmeal & Peanut Butter Smoothie 

Oatmeal is always a great option for a healthy breakfast – it packs fibre and keeps you fuller for longer. Adding almond milk makes it rich in vitamins and calcium. This one is a great twist to the original oatmeal recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas, reeled, sliced, frozen
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup crushed ice

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend on LOW until well blended. Serves 2.

Avocado & Chocolate Smoothie

Just because you don’t have the time for making breakfast doesn’t mean you have to let go of the taste. No! Check out this tasty chocolate and avocado smoothie that is not only fulfilling but also super tasty. And moreover, kids will never say no to it!

Ingredients:

  • 2 avocados
  • 1/2 cup whole almonds
  • 3 frozen bananas cut into chunks
  • 4-5 cups almond milk
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp organic peanut butter, optional

Instructions: Place all ingredients in your blender and blend for 30 seconds until everything is smooth.





Coconut Raspberry Chia Smoothie

This coconut and chia seed smoothie contains essential fatty acids like omega-3 and omega-6. These are beneficial to skin, brain, and heart function. Want to look and feel younger?

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups coconut milk, full fat
  • 2 cup unthawed and frozen raspberries
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes

Instructions: Place 4 tbsp chia seeds and 1 cup of water in a bowl. Place in fridge and let soak overnight. Next day, combine chia seeds (including the liquid) 2 cups coconut milk, 1/4 cup shaved or grated coconut, and 2 cups frozen raspberries. Blend until smooth.

 

Green Tea Smoothie

Green smoothies are always famous among the super health conscious. No excuses for not eating a healthy breakfast just because you have a busy schedule! A little twist with all this goodness- green tea! So enjoy this smoothie full of antioxidants for breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 cups almond milk
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 2 tbsp hemp protein powder
  • 2 tbsp almond flour
  • 2 tbsp dried mulberries
  • 4 pitted dates
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Stevia powder to taste, optional

Instructions: In your blender, add the almond milk, green tea powder, flaxseed meal, hemp powder and almond flour. Follow by adding the dried mulberries, ice cubes and dates. Add the stevia, if desired. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined, for about 30 seconds. You should obtain a homogeneous mixture with the consistency of a smoothie. Serve immediately.
