What do you think is the most significant contribution Filipino Women make to the country?

Filipino women are among the best leaders and workers in this country – because of our ability to empathize with people, while being courageous about our choices and decisions. I have seen a lot of times where Filipino women are branded as domestic helpers internationally and while some find this offensive, I personally find this as very, very inspiring. It clearly paints how a Filipina started with nothing and triumphed in the end. We saw how hard work, with no connections or growing up from a poor family, unfolded to the CEO or business owner that the international community recognizes..

What’s your best advice for Filipino women to achieve success?

My advice would be to honor our Filipino values such as respect for the elderly, hospitality, family centeredness, industriousness and humor – these are the exact values the other nationalities admire us for, all while learning from other nationalities’ values. It is beautiful to see a Filipina who exudes the values of being a Filipino but is able to blend well or be flexible with whatever situation/culture she is brought in. Everyone is going global and the international community knows how hardworking Filipinos are all over the world whatever the career is.
