Do Something Different During The School Holidays [Offer]

There is a tendency for parents to fill their children’s school holidays with activity. Children need to be active, of course; but sometimes they need to be still too, just like adults.

Mindfulness classes that introduce simplified meditation techniques can be a novel addition to your child’s holiday schedule. The Terataii Centre offers a blend of easy-to-do mindfulness practices, teaching stories and short discussions to teach your child to use their own breath and attention to:

  • quickly become calm when needed
  • let go of negative feelings and manage their emotions better
  • focus on the task at hand (whatever that might be)

The program also discusses ways of living mindfully with awareness, attention and focus.

A very special variation of this program is a parent-child bonding over mindfulness, started at the Terataii Centre and continued, together, at home.

The mindfulness program is open to children six years and older, and is offered as individual sessions with one child, or in a group of one to four siblings or friends. Dates and times can be finalized with the parents. The full program is four sessions, each session lasting an hour, but fewer or more sessions can also be arranged.

The parent-child program is offered as a one-hour session, which can be repeated as often as wanted.
