Different Ways To Earn Through Connected Women

Different ways to earn through Connected Women

I hope the first few weeks of 2021 are going well for you so far! Here at Connected Women we have been busy planning the year ahead and I have some important updates for you.

As you probably know, Connected Women’s mission is to create economic empowerment opportunities for women, through entrepreneurship, freelancing and remote work. We’ve worked on a number of projects over the last few years, focused on this goal and we are grateful to have the support of an amazing group of partners.

Last year, when the pandemic hit, like many other businesses we were forced to change strategies in some areas, while continuing to build on others.

One area that had to change direction was the Connected Women Jobs platform where we match Virtual Assistants, Online Workers with Entrepreneurs. As MSMEs globally reassess their businesses and figure out how to survive COVID-19, we made the decision to pivot to upskilling women who were displaced due to the pandemic and those in need of simple, flexible jobs that they can do from home.

We launched the pilot program Elevate AIDA that trains Filipino women in Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation for work in the AI Industry.

One of our realisations last year as we went through this change in direction, was that there are many women in our community who need to earn, but in such a way that is less demanding on time and offers more flexibility to earn while taking care of other responsibilities at home.

With that – Connected Women is excited to be working on projects that will help bring income generation opportunities to members in our wider community this year.

Different ways to earn through Connected Women

Micro Work

Short tasks that you can complete on your own time, paid per task. The tasks usually require basic skills and can be done remotely using a computer or mobile device. As a participant in these projects, you have the opportunity to earn additional income, win prizes or tokens, or take part in larger social impact projects.

Current Micro Work Projects:

At present, we are currently working on a project with a trusted partner in the Digital Identity space that requires labeling of Philippine Issued IDs for improvement of eKYC algorithms. eKYC is a critical tool in improving financial inclusion for the Philippines, where levels of easy access to financial services are very low, especially for women. This is a project very closely aligned with our mission of inclusion.

Data Annotation

Labeling text, video, images or audio for use by AI applications. The annotated data helps in training machines to recognize patterns and “learn”. Machine learning is an important application of artificial intelligence (AI). Connected Women runs training programs and workshops specifically for Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation.

Current Data Annotation projects:

  • Hotel and property reviews made by guests to determine the types of complaints or comments made: labeling and categorising text according to types of common complaints
  • Customer comments and feedback made by customers on a company’s products and services: labeling text according to sentiment type and reasons

Reseller Opportunities

Reseller Opportunities – freelance home business opportunities with trusted brands. Connected Women’s end goal is not only to provide access to work but also to other income earning opportunities.

Current Reseller Opportunities:

With our partnership with Smart Communications, Connected Members will have the opportunity to start their own freelance home retail business using their mobile device.
