3 Low Calorie Snacks For Women On The Go

Is your day always jam-packed with work and do you often find yourself running around? Work can take up so much of our time that we may forget to nourish ourselves.

You may think you can get away with a few hours without food, but you need to listen to your body. To perform well at work, snacking can actually help you get through your busy day healthily.

Dieticians say that it’s not good to go too long without eating. So if you’re busy and always on the go, you might want a ready supply of things to nibble on to keep you energized.

Small, low-cal snacks can give you a boost to help you get through your day. In fact, the American Dietetic Association says that snacking is actually necessary for a healthy diet, that is, if you snack on the right food. Snacking can actually help you hold you over in between meals, help curb hunger pangs and give you an extra boost of energy!

It’s important of course to choose low-cal, healthy snacks. Here are 3 healthy snacks to keep you going:

Low-cal Snack 1: Cereals

Instead of grabbing the next crunchy snack that’s loaded with calories, opt for your favorite flakes instead. Cereals contain essential nutrients and other vitamins and minerals. But choose your cereals well. Cereals that are low in added sugar, high in fiber, and made with healthy whole grains are your best bet.

Low Cal Snack 2: Mixed fruits and nuts

If you love fruits and nuts, then you might want to put together your own healthy fruit and nut mix! Combine nuts like almonds, walnuts, peanuts and such with dried fruits such as apples, cranberries, pineapples and oranges. The best part about this healthy snack is, you can select only your favorites! This healthy combination can help reduce the cholesterol levels and provide you with a good amount of fiber.

Low Cal Snack 3: Chocolate!

Rejoice chocolate lovers! Your favorite dark chocolate can be your healthy go-to snack during your busy days. Not only can dark chocolate make a great pick-me-up snack, it’s also good for the heart. Make sure you choose low sugar and non-milked dark chocolates, and consume no more than 1 bar (50 grams) a day.

With these quick, healthy snacks, you can get through your day with enough energy to accomplish all your tasks!
