Have you ever proofread a letter, leaflet or information sheet 20 times, and then printed out 10,000 copies ... only for someone to look at it and point out a glaring error? Yes, I guess we've all been there, done that! If you are responsible for proofreading important documents (and aren't all documents important?) then here are my tips for effective proofreading:

We can probably agree that a great leader is: somebody who brings out the best of each person in a team; a person who engages team members; somebody who evokes positive emotions and inspires others; a person who resonates with us.

As 2015 closes in, streets and houses are adorned with colourful decorative lighting, there’s an ambience filled with musical anticipation and festive holidays are finally starting. It seems like everything is coming to an end for 2015 and for those of us who have struggled hard over the past twelve months, we’re looking forward to a fresh year in a week's time or so.

‘Fat confusion’ is probably an understatement as we now try to accept that fats are not just good, but are critical for our better health. Abuse of the wrong types of fats (e.g. refined oils, shortening, margarines) while consuming more white foods (sugar, flour, oils) as we try to avoid natural good fats, has contributed to the rise in cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and cancer over recent decades.

Delicious cakes do not need to be unhealthy sweet bombs – if you use smaller amounts of healthier sugars including raw molasses, coconut nectar and unsulphured (blackstrap) molasses. Using these type of sugars will provide nutrients that are devoid in refined, white sugar. Blackstrap molasses, in particular, are rich in iron, calcium and have a low GI, and are therefore absorbed slowly.
