The Sea Shanty’s Top Picks For Family Activities In Bali

Being parents of three children we pride ourselves on having a child-friendly villa, providing you with all the necessities you need for a comfortable, safe and relaxing holiday.

Once you are in the villa, you may find, like we often do, that you never want to leave. But we do recommend you get out and explore all that Bali has to offer. With such a colourful and complex culture that is worth taking the time to learn about, it is a great opportunity to immerse the kids in a different world. There is so much to do and so many incredible parts of the island to experience. This is just a very small selection of some of our top picks.

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

Get the family active with stand-up paddling in the safe, calm Jimbaran Bay waters out in front of The Sea Shanty!

This super-fun activity will soon become a family favourite. Our friends at Rip Curl School, just down the road at the Intercontinental Hotel, host classes and hire out boards and paddles.

Jungle Jeep Adventure

A great way to see and experience the highlights of the culture and countryside of Bali in one day.

Leaving early in the morning, you will spend the day being driven through Bali’s spectacular scenery with food and photo breaks along the way!

Treetop Adventure

For those who aren’t afraid of heights, check out the Bali Treetop Adventure Park.

They have seven circuits designed for all ages and abilities. Just bring nerves of steel!

Pottery Painting

We just love Jenggala for a relaxing and creative activity for kids and adults alike. Jenggala is a beautiful ceramics factory, which also has a space for you to come and paint a pot.

Choose from a variety of mugs, cups, bowls and plates and let your creativity run wild!

Please do note that finished pieces will be ready four to five days after painting.

Waterparks

Bali has four water parks: Splash, Waterbom, Circus and New Kuta Green Park. Most are just a 30-minute drive from the villa.

Check out their websites to compare prices and thrill factors!

We hope this has given you a tiny dose of inspiration for your next holiday to Bali with the family. There are many more things to do with kids, so please get in touch with us if you’d like help organizing your perfect family holiday at The Sea Shanty Jimbaran, Bali!

I am an Australian mother of 3 children. Prior to moving to Singapore (where I have been since 2008), I spent 10 years in Sydney working in travel, mostly in the luxury travel business. The move to Singapore for personal reasons saw me move into a Regional APAC Meetings & Events role and after some time out to have children, a move to Microsoft as Travel Manager for APAC. Once we finished building the villa in Bali, I made the decision to stop full time work to spend more time with my children and to focus on growing "The Sea Shanty Villa" business. This brings me great joy as it allows me the flexibility to achieve the right balance between family priorities and running a business from home. Plus the regular trips to Bali make it all worthwhile too! We designed the villa for us to use as a second family home, so that also makes it a very easy sell to all our like-minded friends living the expat life in Asia.
