Real talk: We girls often miss out on the fun of being at the beach because of being too self-conscious.

The culprit? It’s that long list of “flaws” and “imperfections” we think we have – that become exposed by wearing a swimsuit. Well, here’s the cold, hard truth: These flaws do not exist! Not all girls are created with the same body type, and all we need to do is learn how to dress in a way that will accentuate our body type’s best features. Here are some tips:

If You Are A Busty Babe, Go For Support

One of the top concerns that we hear from our well-endowed friends is that they feel insecure because they feel like some pieces do not provide good support, or they feel like they are one dive away from having a wardrobe malfunction. If this is your concern, get pieces with a bra-style top – with underwires and adjustable straps. It’s also good to check out how the clasps close at the back to avoid mishaps.

Girls With A More Athletic Body Type Are Perfect In Bandeaus – But Ones With Elaborate Patterns And Frills

The upside of having an athletic body type is that whatever type of bikini you wear, they stay put most of the time. You don’t always have to worry about accidental exposure, or having to adjust your swimsuit often to put it back in place. Some ladies, however, would want to “fill” the suit more. The answer? Frills, fringes, and bold patterns are your best friends! These styles add details to the bust line and the hips, making your shape look fuller than usual.

For Those Gifted With More Curves Waist-Down, Bring The Attention Upwards

It might sound like a chore for now, but we bet you will have loads of fun mixing and matching bikini tops and bottoms. Draw the eyes upwards by pairing light and printed bikini tops with bottoms that are darker and are just one solid color. Try not to go for bottoms that are cut like boy shorts—they have a tendency to make your hips look wider.

Make Your Apple Shape The Apple Of People’s Eyes With Classy One-Pieces And Patterned Bikini Bottoms

While most people find it tricky to dress for their apple shape, it’s actually pretty easy: choose pieces that will make the lower part of your body look bigger. Choose bikinis tops with thick straps and a solid color. Then, pair them with patterned bottoms. You can also rock a one-piece using the same principle! Try to choose ones with patterns that are concentrated from the waist down.

Whatever style you choose, make sure not to miss out on the secret ingredient: Self-confidence! Life is too short to feel unpretty when in reality, you are one gorgeous babe. Have fun shopping!

Travel on!
